FAQs

1. How powerful and quiet is this 30‑inch range hood?
It delivers 450 CFM airflow to quickly clear smoke, grease and cooking odors out of your kitchen. At the highest fan speed, the noise level stays below 8.5 sones for relatively quiet operation.
2. Does this wall‑mount canopy hood work with Alexa and Google Home voice control?
Yes. This smart range hood supports both Alexa and Google Home voice‑activated control. You can adjust fan speeds or turn the hood on and off with simple voice commands, plus it can also be operated via touch panel.
3. Can I install this range hood without external ductwork?
Absolutely. It has two ventilation options. You can run it as a ducted hood with a 78‑3/4‑inch exhaust pipe to vent air outside, or switch to ductless recirculating‑inside mode. Duct‑free installation requires CACF003‑OW carbon filters, which are sold separately and not included in the package.
4. Are the built‑in lights energy‑saving?
Yes. It comes equipped with 2 × 1.5W long‑life LED lights. These low‑power lights provide bright illumination over your cooking surface while consuming far less electricity than traditional halogen bulbs.
5. What is the installation type for this 30‑inch glass canopy range hood?
This is a wall‑mount canopy‑style range hood, designed to be fixed on the wall above your 30‑inch cooktop. It is not suitable for under‑cabinet or island installation.
6. What is CFM?
CFM stands for Cubic Feet per Minute, a unit of measurement used to quantify the volume of air a range hood can move or extract per minute. In kitchen appliances, CFM measures how effectively a range hood ventilates the air by removing smoke, odors, steam, and grease from the kitchen.
7. How Many CFM for a Range Hood?
The general rule of thumb for selecting the right CFM for a range hood depends on both the kitchen size and the power of your stove. For electric cooktops, it's recommended to have a range hood with 100 CFM per 12 inches of stove width, while for gas cooktops, you need a range hood with CFM between 100 and 120 per 12 inches due to the higher heat output. For instance, if your cooktop is 36 inches wide, you would need a range hood with a minimum of 300 to 360 CFM to ensure proper ventilation.
8. How Do You Measure CFM For a Kitchen?
To measure the CFM required for your kitchen, you'll need to take into account the size of the room, the type of cooktop, and how frequently you cook. A common approach for estimating the necessary CFM is to calculate the square footage of your kitchen and then multiply that by a factor of 0.8 to 1.0. This will give you a good idea of how much airflow your range hood should provide.
9. What is the Airflow Capacity of This Range Hood?
The airflow capacity of the CIARRA range hood is as follows:
