CIARRA 30 Inch Convertible Low-Profile Under Cabinet Range Hood with 3-Speed Fan CAS75918A-OW

I'm a renter and my landlord wasn't going to replace the ancient range hood that came with the apartment, so I took matters into my own hands. This CIARRA hood was affordable and the stainless steel finish actually looks more expensive than it is. The 5-layer aluminum mesh filters do a decent job catching grease—I was disgusted (in a good way) by how much grease they pulled out of the air in the first week. They're dishwasher safe too which is a huge plus because I hate hand-washing anything. I will say the 200 CFM is on the lower side, so if you're someone who sears steaks at high heat regularly, you might want to look at a higher CFM model. But for my typical weeknight dinners—pasta, sheet pan meals, the occasional fajita—it gets the job done. The push button controls are tactile and feel durable. My husband installed it in under two hours, and we went with the ducted setup. For around 170 bucks, I really can't complain.

I installed this range hood about two months ago in my condo kitchen and I'm really happy with it. The ultra-slim profile was the main selling point for me—my cabinet to cooktop clearance is only about 30 inches, and most other hoods were too deep. This one sits flush and barely noticeable. The 200 CFM is enough for my everyday cooking. I do a lot of stir-frying and while it won't completely clear heavy smoke from a smoking-hot wok, it handles steam and normal cooking odors without an issue. The three-speed push button control is straightforward—no fancy touch panels to figure out. On the lowest setting it's practically silent, and even on high it's only about 6.5 sones which is quieter than my old Broan hood. The two LED lights are bright enough to cook by. I'm running it ductless with the CACF006 carbon filter and I've noticed I need to swap the filter about every 3 months to keep odors down. Installation took me about an hour and a half by myself, the instructions were clear enough. For the price, this is a solid buy.
