I love making cocktails, mocktails, or sangrias with fresh juices, but squeezing the juice fresh is difficult and time-consuming. Pre-bottled/boxed /canned juices don’t work for me. Store-bought fresh juices are an option, but not always available for some of the fruits I use, or the fruit used is of questionable provenance. This Ciarra press juicer was an excellent solution for me. First off, I like the size. I’m not making gallons of juice, so I don’t need or want something the size of a washing machine on my bar; the form factor is nice and compact. It’s an attractive, understated design, and the controls are simple. I’m not looking for something that looks like the cockpit of a fighter jet and is just as challenging to use, and I don’t need “precise extraction control”; it’s freaking juice. The materials the juicer is made from are sufficient, but it’s a bit plasticky, and the fit and finish are good. Performance-wise, it works well and saves me a lot of time, and the Mai Tai I’m sipping on while writing this is proof of that.
