FAQs

1. Is this suitable for a larger island where we cook and entertain?
The 36-inch format complements larger islands and open-plan kitchens. Four induction zones and a left bridge support multi-dish meals, while integrated downdraft keeps overhead views open. Confirm the installation requirements before choosing your layout.
2. What should I check before ordering and budgeting for installation?
Review the countertop opening, cabinet space, electrical supply and ventilation layout with your installer. Request a quote covering any countertop alterations, cabinet adjustments, electrical work, ventilation parts and labor. Check the package contents first, as additional parts may be needed for your kitchen.
3. Can it replace my existing 36-inch cooktop?
Not automatically. “36-inch” describes the size category, not a universal cutout. The cooktop measures approximately 35.43 × 20.47 inches (900 × 520 mm) and requires a 34.25 × 19.29-inch cutout (870 × 490 mm). Have your installer check the opening, cabinet space and required clearances before ordering.
4. Can I keep drawers underneath the cooktop?
That depends on the cabinet and ventilation layout. The appliance body is approximately 7.87 inches (200 mm) high, with additional space needed for extraction components and clearances. Drawers or shelves may need adjustment; have your installer check the complete installation drawing before planning storage.
5. What electrical supply does it require?
The model is rated for 240 V, 60 Hz. Have a qualified electrician confirm the supply, circuit, protection and wiring requirements using the model-specific U.S. installation instructions. Existing wiring may need modification.
6. Can I reuse my existing ventilation setup?
Not necessarily. Your installer should check the supported ventilation configuration, connection positions, airflow route and cabinet openings. Existing components may need adapting or replacing, and additional parts may be required.
7. Can I adjust extraction to suit different types of cooking?
Yes. Choose from four regular fan speeds plus Boost. Airflow reaches approximately 230 CFM (390 m³/h) at the highest regular setting and 289 CFM (491 m³/h) in Boost. The listed noise level starts at 41 dB on the lowest setting; higher settings produce more noise.
8. How does Plasma⁺ help with cooking odors?
Downdraft captures fumes near the pan, while built-in Plasma⁺ uses electrical ionization alongside filtration to help reduce odor-causing substances in the extracted air. It helps reduce lingering cooking odors but does not guarantee complete odor removal.
9. Does Plasma⁺ mean the filters are maintenance-free?
No. Filters still require care according to the model-specific cleaning and replacement instructions. Cleaning methods vary by component, so do not assume that all filters or the Plasma⁺ module are washable or dishwasher-safe.
10. What cookware can I use on the left bridge?
Use flat-bottomed, induction-compatible longer cookware that spans the linked zones as shown in the manual. Check the recommended base dimensions and placement; a longer pan is not automatically suitable for bridge cooking.
11. How do I choose between the 36-inch and 30-inch models?
Both sizes offer four cooking zones and a left bridge. Choose based on the actual dimensions, cutout, cabinet requirements and prep space you want to retain. The 36-inch model has a wider profile, not more cooking zones.
