Every appliance site will shout “up to 60% off” this week. Some of those numbers are real and some are decoration. Here is how to tell the difference — and which kitchen categories actually deserve your money.
Black Friday is an odd week to buy a kitchen appliance. The discounts are genuine, but they are not spread evenly. Range hoods and induction cooktops tend to see real, brand-wide price cuts because they are mature products with predictable margins. Freestanding refrigerators and countertop gadgets usually get a new “was” price and very little else.
The difference matters more in a kitchen than anywhere else in the house. A hood that is 100 CFM short of your cooking style is a decade of grease on the cabinets. A cooktop that does not fit the cut-out is a countertop you have to re-cut. So instead of ranking discounts, we ran five tests on every deal in our own 2026 line-up — and then did the math most shoppers never do.
The Five Tests We Apply Before Calling a Deal “Worth it”
1. The discount lands on the size you actually need.
A 30-inch hood at 32% off is a deal. A 24-inch hood at 40% off is only a deal if your range is 24 inches. Most “doorbuster” appliances are the odd sizes nobody orders — which is exactly why they are cheap.
2. The whole catalogue is coded, not one hero SKU.
When a brand publishes a site-wide code, the discount is structural rather than theatrical. When the “sale” is a single model flagged with a red badge, you are usually looking at old stock with an invented list price.
3. The spec sheet is public before you pay.
Airflow in CFM, noise in dB or sones, duct diameter, cut-out dimensions, voltage. If a listing cannot tell you those five things before checkout, it is selling you a photograph, not an appliance.
4. Consumables are covered too.
A hood that runs recirculating needs carbon filters, and those filters are a real annual cost. A $120 hood plus $60 of filters is a $180 hood. A discount that includes the filter pack is worth more than one that does not.
5. Installation does not eat the savings.
Replacing a 6-inch duct run with a 7-inch hood is a contractor line item, not a product upgrade. The best Black Friday purchase is the one that matches what is already in your wall.
Category by Category: What is Worth Buying
| Category | Verdict | Why | Best window |
|---|---|---|---|
| Range hoods | Worth it | Mature product, brand-wide codes, cheap to ship, simple like-for-like swap. | Mid-Nov to early Dec |
| Induction cooktops | Worth it | Fastest-growing category, deepest cuts — provided you have 240V and the cut-out matches. | Mid-Nov to early Dec |
| Hob-and-hood systems | Worth it | Rarely discounted outside this window, and they are a renovation decision rather than a swap. | Plan with the reno |
| Built-in ovens | Only if measured | Cut-out tolerances are tight and returns are painful. Buy when replacing like-for-like, not speculatively. | Any time — price is stable |
| Freestanding refrigerators | Skip | Doorbusters are usually discontinued colours, and delivery slots slip into January. | Not this week |
| Small countertop appliances | Gifts only | Absolute savings are small ($10–30). Fine as presents, a bad reason to plan a kitchen. | Doorbuster days |
| Filters, ducting, accessories | Stock up | Lowest unit price of the year and zero risk — nothing to measure, nothing to install. | Early access week |
The One Number Most Hood Shoppers Never Calculate
A range hood has essentially one job: move air. Which means the honest way to compare two hoods on sale is dollars per CFM of rated airflow, not the percentage off the badge. We ran that number on our own line-up at Black Friday prices, and the ranking is not what the badges suggest.
| Model | Mount | Rated CFM | BF price | $ / CFM | What you are actually paying for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
|
24" Wall-Mount Hood |
Wall | 450 | $176.79 | $0.39 | The cheapest air in the line-up — if your run is 24". |
|
20" Slim Insert Hood CAS52913E-N / CAB52913E-N |
Insert | 400 | $169.99 | $0.42 | The smallest cabinet opening in the range. |
|
30" Wall-Mount Chimney Hood |
Wall | 450 | $299.19 | $0.66 | The chimney silhouette and a SensorTouch panel. |
|
30" Ultra-Slim Under-Cabinet |
Under-cabinet | 160 | $119.99 | $0.75 | 3.94 inches of total height — you are buying clearance, not airflow. |
|
28" Insert Hood with WiFi |
Insert | 560 | $844.99 | $1.51 | Baffle filters, 4 speeds, WiFi, 7" duct, plasma module. |
|
36" PRO Chimney Hood |
Wall | 550 | $1,299.99 | $2.36 | Pro width, baffle filters, WiFi, 7" duct, 30¼–50" chimney reach. |
Three That Clear the Bar This Year
If you want the short list rather than the whole catalogue, these are the three that survived all five tests — one for each kind of buyer.

Best budget swap 30" Ultra-Slim Under-Cabinet Hood ![]()
CAS75918A / CAS75918B / CAB75918B 160 CFM, 63 dB, 3 speeds, 4.8" duct, and only 3.94 inches tall. This is the hood for the kitchen that has almost no clearance under the upper cabinets — and the only one here that fits that gap. $119.99 |
Best all-round upgrade 28" Insert Hood with WiFi ![]() 560 CFM across four speeds, two dishwasher-safe baffle filters and a plasma module. This is the point where a hood stops being a fan and starts handling high-heat frying without the kitchen smelling of it the next morning. $844.99 |
|
Best if you are renovating CIARRA ONE 30" Hob & Hood System ![]()
Four induction zones at 7,000 W total, plus a 289 CFM downdraft hood in the same 770 × 520 mm footprint. One cut-out, nothing hanging above the island, recirculating with plasma and ultrafiltration. $2,999.00 |
This year’s code schedule, and how to use it
The sale runs in two stages, and the codes do not overlap in usefulness. If you already know what you need, buy in the stage that codes your category rather than waiting for the last day.
| Window | Code | Covers | Smartest use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nov 3 – Nov 10 | BF25 | 25% off almost everything except accessories | Early access week — the widest stock, before popular sizes sell down. |
| Nov 11 – Dec 3 | BF32 | 32% off site-wide | Range hoods and induction cooktops — the main event. |
| Nov 11 – Dec 3 | BF35 | 35% off CIARRA ONE, PRO and induction hobs | The premium pair — deepest cut in the line-up. |
| Nov 11 – Dec 3 | BD35 | 35% off selected appliance bundles | Hood plus hob bought together, when the sizes already match. |
| Nov 11 – Dec 3 | DEAL60 | Up to 60% off clearance items | Last units and odd sizes — check the spec sheet before you commit. |
Two timing details are worth knowing. Free extra carbon filter packs start on November 10 on selected hoods, which matters if you run recirculating. And the free coffee machine on CIARRA ONE or PRO purchases is capped at the first 10 US orders — useful if you were already buying a premium hood, not a reason to buy one.
Frequently asked
Is Black Friday actually the cheapest time to buy a range hood?
For this category, generally yes. Hoods are mature products with predictable margins, so brand-wide codes land lower than the typical 10–15% seasonal discount you see the rest of the year. The exception is clearance stock, which can go deeper but sells out of the useful sizes first.
Should I buy the hood or the cooktop first?
Buy them in the same window. The cooktop decides the hood width and the duct route, and buying both during the sale usually unlocks the bundle code on top of the individual discounts.
Do I need a 30-inch or a 36-inch hood?
Match the cooking surface. A 30" range takes a 30" hood and a 36" range takes a 36" hood. Oversizing the hood is fine for clearance; undersizing it means the edges of the cooktop vent into the room.
Are the free gifts worth timing a purchase around?
Only if you were already buying. The coffee machine is capped at 10 US orders on CIARRA ONE and PRO hoods, so treat it as a bonus rather than a target. The carbon filter pack is the more practical one, because it covers a cost that recurs every year.
